We're partnering with a highly respected enterprise software organisation building a dedicated AI Function focused on embedding AI into the core of how products are designed, engineered, delivered, and supported. This is not a traditional 'AI feature engineering' role. You'll help shape AI-native ways of working across the business - designing agentic workflows, integrations, and orchestration layers that connect teams, systems, and stages of the product lifecycle. The focus is on building intelligent systems that reduce friction, surface context, automate workflows, and improve how engineering, QA, delivery, sales, and product teams operate together.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and building agentic AI workflows across multiple business functions
- Building MCP integrations, APIs, and AI orchestration layers
- Creating AI-native workflows using tool calling, state management, and guardrails
- Working closely with engineering, product, sales, and delivery teams to understand operational bottlenecks
- Building intelligent automation patterns that improve decision-making and reduce duplication
- Contributing to shared AI infrastructure and governance standards
What they're looking for:
- Strong hands-on AI engineering experience in production environments
- Real experience building agentic AI systems (not just prompt engineering)
- Experience with MCP, tool-calling frameworks, orchestration patterns, or AI workflow systems
- Strong software engineering background (Python and/or TypeScript)
- Experience building APIs, integrations, automation tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable operating across technical and non-technical teams
- Someone who enjoys ambiguity and helping shape direction
Nice to have:
- DevOps/platform engineering background
- Experience building internal AI tooling
- Familiarity with enterprise AI governance/compliance
- SAP ecosystem exposure
This role would suit someone currently working in:
- AI product companies
- AI-native SaaS businesses
- Platform engineering teams
- Developer tooling environments
- Internal AI enablement functions
It's a genuinely interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys systems thinking, intelligent workflow design, and building practical AI capabilities that have visible business impact.
