The Vice President, Institutional Sales – Multi-Asset will drive new business acquisition across Europe for a leading, diversified stock exchange. With a focus on origination, you will target buy-side institutions across asset classes: equities, fixed income, credit, listed derivatives, ETFs, FX, real estate products, and digital assets. This role is ideal for an energetic, “hunter” sales leader with an established buy-side network keen to deliver revenue in a rapidly evolving market structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate new business opportunities with asset managers, asset owners, hedge funds, insurance firms, and other institutional clients across all asset classes.
- Secure new exchange memberships, onboard market participants, and grow trading, clearing, and data services revenue.
- Articulate the value proposition of the exchange’s full multi-asset product set (equity, debt, derivative, FX, alternative, and digital products).
- Represent the exchange at industry events, client roadshows, and relevant European forums.
- Work cross-functionally with product, operations, regulatory, and technology teams to ensure seamless execution of client onboarding and delivery.
- Monitor and report on sales pipeline and competitor developments; provide regular market intelligence to management.
- Develop tailored presentations and pitch materials for diverse client types and asset class needs.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years in institutional sales/business development in a capital markets, exchange, or trading technology environment.
- Deep buy-side network spanning asset managers, asset owners, hedge funds, and trading firms across Europe.
- Proven track record of new business wins—particularly with sophisticated, multi-product clients.
- Strong technical understanding of market structure, trading, clearing, and settlement processes across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative asset classes.
- Experience in marketing and selling exchange memberships, data feeds, or direct market access a plus.
- Working knowledge of European regulatory frameworks (MiFID II, EMIR, etc.).
- Commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and executive presence in client settings.
- Fluency in English required; competence in other European languages preferred.
