Role Summary: In response to strategic growth and evolving market demands, our Client is seeking an experienced Technical Project Lead to oversee the development and delivery of active suspension systems. This senior position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of complex engineering projects, impacting the design and implementation of critical vehicle components. Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project timelines related to the Electric Motor Module (EMM), coordinating with Tier 2 suppliers for timely delivery.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical harness, system, and software development schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Facilitate communication between engineering verticals and the project management office, coordinating progress reviews and resolving issues.
- Lead technical review sessions with customers and suppliers, documenting actions, tracking open issues, and ensuring clear, concise reporting.
- Guide teams on effective reporting practices for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
- Collaborate with functional teams on risk assessment, strategic planning, and technical approach, especially regarding delivery timelines and technical challenges.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of the Design Verification Plan (DVP), supporting validation activities.
- Promote cross-functional understanding of stakeholder requirements, translating them into technical specifications and Engineering, System of Work (ESOW) documentation.
- Mentor engineers, fostering professional development and providing technical and strategic guidance.
- Manage project budget planning and execution in partnership with the project management team, ensuring timely delivery within fiscal expectations.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to evaluate cost data, justify engineering changes, and support cost trade-off decisions.
- Participate in company-wide process improvements and share lessons learned to optimise project execution.
- Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams, encouraging open communication, ownership, and accountability, while adapting leadership styles as needed.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project activities and stakeholder engagement.
