Location: London - 3 days on secure site a week

£400 - £450 per day, Outside IR35

Our client is a technology-led consultancy delivering secure digital and data platforms into UK Central Government and Defence environments.

This role sits within an embedded Agile delivery squad on a secure programme. You will operate within a scaled Agile environment, helping to guide delivery and ensure user and business needs are translated into clear, prioritised technical outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Define and support the product vision for your squad and area of responsibility
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the highest value work aligned to programme priorities
  • Lead requirements workshops and translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications
  • Break down outcomes into clear, deliverable technical tasks for engineering teams
  • Act as the voice of the customer, gathering feedback and ensuring solutions meet user needs
  • Support sprint planning and backlog refinement, prioritising work based on value and feasibility
  • Drive continuous improvement by refining backlog and adapting to feedback and delivery changes
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, engineering and programme teams

Key requirements:

  • Experience operating as a Technical Product Manager or Product Owner within Agile environments
  • Experience working in scaled Agile environments (SAFe or similar)
  • Strong backlog ownership, user story writing and requirements elicitation experience
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical delivery outcomes
  • Experience working within UK Government, Defence or secure environments
  • Strong communication skills with experience running workshops and engaging stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in complex, regulated environments with evolving requirements
  • Active SC Clearance (recently used)
  • Willingness to undergo DV Clearance
