A leading UK-based Tier-1 EPC contractor delivering turnkey infrastructure solutions across renewable energy and power projects is seeking an experienced SCADA & Communications Engineer. The company specializes in large-scale solar, BESS, and grid connection systems, providing end-to-end design, construction, and energization services for complex energy infrastructure across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop SCADA and communication systems for HV substations and BESS projects (11-400 kV).
  • Configure and integrate RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Define and implement communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870, DNP3, Modbus).
  • Coordinate data exchanges between SCADA-PPC, SCADA-EMS, and SCADA-DNO/IDNO interfaces.
  • Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and integration with DNO/NGESO systems.
  • Ensure compliance with National Grid, DNO, and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Communications Engineering.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering SCADA and communication systems in HV or BESS environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and network configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs from major OEMs (Siemens, Schneider, GE, SEL, Emerson).
  • Familiarity with EPC or design-and-build project delivery environments.
