Business Analyst – IT Observability Programme

Security Clearance: SC (Held with Home Office) NPPV3 (desirable)

Organisation: UK Home Office / Public Sector Programme

Location: UK-based (hybrid/on-site as required)

Contract: 3 Months (Likely extension)

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major IT Observability Programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in capturing business and technical requirements, supporting delivery teams, and helping establish effective observability capabilities across complex IT services. Due to the nature of the programme, active Home Office SC clearance is mandatory, and NPPV3 clearance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with technical and operational stakeholders to elicit, document, and manage business and non-functional requirements.
  • Support the delivery of an enterprise-wide IT Observability strategy, covering monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance management.
  • Produce high-quality artefacts including business requirements, use cases, user stories, process maps, and impact assessments.
  • Act as a bridge between business, engineering, and service management teams.
  • Support tooling onboarding, dashboards, KPIs, and service health metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, service resilience, and operational maturity.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on an IT Observability programme.
  • Strong understanding of modern observability concepts (monitoring, APM, metrics, logs, traces).
  • Experience operating within complex, secure, or regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical detail into clear business outcomes.
  • Active SC clearance (Held With Home Office).
  • NPPV3 clearance.
  • Experience working within UK government or public sector organisations.
  • Familiarity with ITSM, SRE, DevOps, or cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience supporting service transitions or live service environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with Dynatrace and/or Datadog in large-scale environments.
