The successful candidate will support delivery of safety assurance throughout the full engineering lifecycle - from requirements and architecture through to integration, verification and validation.
Role responsibilities (depending on level):
- Deliver safety engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
- Support/lead safety work packages with ownership of delivery to time, cost and quality.
- Apply recognised safety analysis techniques (e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, BowTie).
- Develop and maintain safety artefacts, including:
- Hazard logs
- Compliance/legislation assessments
- Safety arguments / safety case reports
- Collaborate with systems/engineering teams on trade studies, design reviews, and technical feasibility.
- Engage stakeholders and present safety progress at project reviews.
Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of systems engineering and safety engineering principles.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving capability.
- Confident written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Eligible for SC clearance.
Desirable (varies by level):
- Safety lifecycle experience and safety documentation ownership.
- Experience in complex environments (e.g. defence, security, aerospace or similarly regulated sectors).
- Familiarity with engineering delivery tooling (e.g. requirements and workflow tools such as JAMA / JIRA).
- Understanding of government/procurement engineering environments.
