We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Engineer to join a global leader in the MedTech sector, contributing to the development of next-generation infusion systems. This is a high-impact position where you will act as the technical authority for fluidics and pumping mechanisms, driving innovation, performance, and reliability within a complex, cutting-edge medical device program.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fluidics and pumping systems
- Define and develop pump designs from first principles (fluid dynamics, pressure systems, materials)
- Build and validate analytical and numerical models
- Lead experimental testing and drive data-led decision making
- Provide technical leadership to Mechanical and Systems Engineering teams
- Conduct trade-off analyses across performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Support Design History File (DHF) documentation, including Theory of Operation and validation reports
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and patent development
About You
- Extensive experience in fluidics and pumping systems (MedTech experience preferred)
- Strong expertise in peristaltic or precision fluid delivery mechanisms
- Proven track record delivering products from concept through to verification
- Experience working in regulated environments (FDA, EU MDR)
- Strong modelling and experimental validation capabilities
- Ability to provide technical leadership without direct line management
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
