iO Associates is partnering with a globally recognised insurance and risk advisory business seeking a Power Generation Risk Engineer to join its world-class team. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in power plant operations or engineering who\'s ready to transition into a technical advisory position that blends site expertise, client interaction, and global exposure.
What You\'ll Be Doing:
Conduct detailed risk surveys at conventional and renewable power generation sites
Analyse operational risks, safety systems, and business interruption exposures
Deliver reports and risk prevention recommendations to clients and underwriters
Manage survey programs and act as technical liaison between field engineering and underwriting teams
Learn from real-world losses and apply root cause insights to prevent future incidents
What You\'ll Bring:
10+ years in power plant engineering, operations, or OEM manufacturing (boilers, turbines, transformers, etc.)
Strong knowledge of safety standards , ideally with NEBOSH and ISO familiarity
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
Excellent communication skills to present technical risks and guide underwriters
Physically capable and willing to travel globally (up to 90 days/year)
Ability to interpret third-party technical data and apply engineering judgment
Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of gas turbines, thermal, nuclear, or renewable power stations
Experience in power generation construction/design projects
Prior work with insurance, loss adjusting, or technical risk analysis
Multilingual or experience working across global cultures
