We’re supporting a major UK Government department looking for a User Research Insights Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This is a newly created position for someone who is a master at turning complex data into captivating stories. Someone who can bridge the gap between heavy technical metrics, qualitative user research, and high-level business strategy.
It is a highly collaborative, strategic position where you will synthesize mixed-method data sources, build influential narratives for C-suite and Senior Leadership, and coach a team of analysts and researchers to level up their own communication/story-telling impact.
What You’ll Do
- Connect the Dots: Synthesize diverse data streams—including quantitative analytics, qualitative user research, behavioural data, and market trends—into clear, cohesive narratives.
- Influence Senior Strategy: Translate highly complex, technical findings into accessible, visually engaging outputs (slide decks, infographics, or immersive briefings) tailored specifically for Senior Leadership.
- Drive a User-Centric Agenda: Work alongside Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Researchers to ensure that evidence-based, user-centered insight drives the organization’s core priorities.
- Leave a Legacy: Coach, upskill, and mentor embedded team members on the art of data storytelling, setting high standards and templates for what “excellent insight” looks like.
- Shape the Function: You will proactively spot knowledge gaps, build out the insight agenda, and design new ways of working across a large-scale, complex ecosystem.
To thrive in this role, you must bring:
- Big-Picture Synthesis: Proven experience pulling data from entirely different worlds (numbers vs. human stories) and weaving them into actionable strategic insight.
- Product & UCD Context: A solid grasp of the product management space and User-Centered Design.
- Complex Enterprise Experience: Experience navigating and influencing within large, matrixed, or complex organizations. (Prior Government experience preferred).
- Coaching & Mentorship: Natural ability to upskill and inspire others, using strong stakeholder management to drive cultural change.
