We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join a team delivering cloud-based data solutions in a secure environment. This is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining data pipelines, transforming data for business use, and supporting reliable reporting and analytics across the organisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design, develop, and support scalable data solutions. You’ll be involved in the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements and development through to deployment and support.
Key responsibilities- Design, build, and support data pipelines in Azure.
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Support the movement, transformation, and storage of data in cloud environments.
- Build and maintain resilient, production-ready data solutions.
- Work in an Agile team and contribute to CI/CD delivery practices.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
- Support testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement of data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, SQL, Delta Lake, or Azure Data Lake.
- Experience building data pipelines and working with large datasets.
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling, and data transformation.
- Experience with CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Strong Python, SQL, or PySpark skills.
- Experience working in Defence, Public Sector, or other secure environments.
- Must hold active SC clearance.
- Experience with streaming or event-driven data solutions.
- Knowledge of Power BI or reporting/data visualisation tools.
- Experience working with Agile delivery teams.
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring, orchestration, and automation.
