Rate: Up to £850 / day Inside IR35
Location: Manchester (1-2 days / week)
Contract Length: 6 months initial (+ extensions)
Clearance: Active SC or DV Clearance (+NPPV3 eligibility)
I'm looking for an experienced hands-on Lead DevOps Engineer to support the design, delivery, and operation of secure cloud and data platforms. You'll bring strong AWS and DevOps engineering experience, with the ability to work across platform engineering, data infrastructure, MLOps foundations, and technical assurance in complex or constrained environments.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong AWS platform engineering and operations experience
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise
- CI/CD delivery using GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions
- Experience managing multi-environment platforms (dev, test, prod)
- Knowledge of cloud security, monitoring, logging, and cost optimisation
- Experience with secure or restricted/high-side environments
- Python for automation and data processing
- Data platform and pipeline engineering experience
- Familiarity with orchestration tooling such as Airflow
- Understanding of MLOps practices and ML delivery workflows
- Kubernetes experience desirable
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide technical assurance, design review, and architecture support
- Define practical engineering standards and ways of working
- Mentor engineers and data scientists through hands-on collaboration
- Produce clear technical documentation and onboarding materials
