Hybrid – 3 days travel/office based

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Director – Mechanical Engineering to provide technical leadership across major UK Water Sector projects. This is a senior leadership position combining technical expertise, client engagement and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the national Mechanical Engineering practice.
  • Act as a recognised technical authority, overseeing complex multidisciplinary projects and providing solutions to challenging technical issues.
  • Lead technical input into major bids and proposals, while developing client relationships and identifying business growth opportunities.
  • Grow and develop the Mechanical Engineering capability, mentoring teams and driving improvements in technical standards and delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in senior technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience within the UK Water Sector is essential, particularly across water/wastewater treatment and pumping systems.
  • Strong expertise in pumps, blowers, screens, chemical dosing systems, UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR.
  • Commercially astute with experience in client engagement, winning proposals, business growth and leading complex multidisciplinary projects.
