6 Month Initial Contract
iO Associates is looking for a System Architect for spacecraft missions, responsible for defining mission architecture and ensuring technical success across the full mission lifecycle. This role leads system-level engineering activities and coordinates multidisciplinary teams covering the space segment, ground segment, launch, and in-orbit operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and managing system requirements and interfaces in line with ECSS standards
- Maintaining the technical baseline, managing system budgets and risks, and overseeing verification and validation activities
- Providing technical leadership across all spacecraft subsystems, ensuring effective interface control, and supporting design reviews, AIT, launch, and in-orbit operations
The role works closely with program management, customers, partners, and subcontractors, supporting contract negotiations, anomaly investigations, and future mission proposals.
Required experience:
- 10+ years in the spacecraft industry
- Proven technical leadership, strong system-engineering expertise, knowledge of spacecraft operations and ground systems, and hands-on experience across multiple engineering domains
- Confidence leading complex, multidisciplinary teams and delivering end-to-end space missions is essential
