Hi! I'm working with a major player in the defence sector, and they are looking for experienced Machine Learning Engineers with extensive experience in computer vision. You'd basically be the bridge between cutting-edge research and live deployment - taking theoretical concepts and turning them into real-world solutions, with plenty of space to mentor others and steer the team's technical direction.
The Non-Negotiables:
- Computer Vision: You absolutely must have deep, proven experience in computer vision.
- Clearance: You must hold an active SC or DV clearance and have lived continuously in the UK for the past 5 years.
- Background: You must have previous experience working directly within Central Government or the Defence sector.
What You Bring to the Table:
- CV Expertise: A really solid grasp of modern computer vision methods - think SLAM, 3D geometry, depth estimation, and object tracking.
- Deployment: You know how to actually ship code. Hands-on experience getting models out of testing and into production (especially with ONNX or TensorRT) is a big plus.
- Research Savvy: You're totally comfortable reading through academic papers, testing out the latest models, and figuring out how to integrate them into commercial software.
The Tech Stack: Strong Python skills are a must, along with plenty of experience using PyTorch, OpenCV, Torchvision, and standard MLOps tools like Weights & Biases or PyTorch Lightning.
Autonomy: You don't need micromanaging. You're happy to make the big architectural calls, set your own direction, and drive projects forward independently.
