A Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an experienced Interim HR Director to provide immediate leadership and reassurance during a live period of change. This is a hands-on, senior interim assignment for a credible HR leader who has operated in a centralised MAT model and can quickly bring structure and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the HR function and lead a team of 6 individuals with direction and support.
  • Embed centralised HR processes.
  • Oversee the ongoing restructure and help establish the right culture and working relationship between central services and schools.
  • Build trust with headteachers and senior leaders by ensuring decisions are implemented consistently.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience of working within HR leadership.
  • Must have a strong background of working within a Multi-Academy Trust.
  • Proven experience leading HR in a centralised model, including embedding central HR processes across multiple schools/sites.
  • Confident managing and coaching HRBPs and admin teams.
  • Deep expertise across employee relations, restructuring, redundancy, change management, and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Experience across a mixed primary and secondary MAT would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of SAM People and/or SAM Payroll would be highly regarded.

Please note that you will be required to be onsite in their London office with some flexibility. This role will be paid on a daily rate basis. This is an urgent hire and the role can be interviewed and offered in June 2026.
