As part of a significant strategic expansion, Our Client is seeking an experienced Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) Engineer to lead the development of vital testing systems for their next‑generation satellite control hardware. This role is integral to accelerating their mission to advance space technology, ensuring the reliability and safety of their innovative ion propulsion systems. Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Lead the specification, design, and construction of HIL systems for testing satellite thruster electronics.
- Develop and implement software scripts and tools to conduct comprehensive hardware and embedded software testing.
- Collaborate with software, control, electronics, and satellite teams to develop electronic thruster simulation models.
- Manage the full development lifecycle of HIL systems, including procurement, integration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure testing processes adhere to industry standards and best practices, including high-voltage and real-time system considerations.
- Document system designs, test procedures, and results to support continuous improvement and compliance.
- Proven track record in designing and developing HIL test systems within the aerospace or high-tech sectors.
- Hands‑on experience with national instruments, SpeedGoat, dSPACE, or similar HIL systems.
- Strong understanding of electronics design, high-voltage systems, and power electronics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++, with experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of test automation, real-time systems, and industry standards like ECSS.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HIL development and testing.
