This role is suited to an experienced and high-performing Business Intelligence Analyst with advanced Power BI capability, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a proven ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insight. The successful individual will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making and influencing strategic and operational outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver measurable business value through the design and delivery of advanced BI solutions.
- Lead the development, optimisation, and automation of Power BI dashboards and reports that are scalable, insightful, and user-centric.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and convert them into actionable analytics and data products.
- Influence senior decision-makers through clear data storytelling, visual narratives, and strategic insight.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and visualisation best practices.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure BI outputs align with business objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI standards, governance, tools, and ways of working.
Required Experience:
- Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and advanced visualisation techniques.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or upskilling others in BI tools and analytical practices.
- Proven track record of delivering insights that support business performance and transformation initiatives.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Power BI development skills with clear evidence of DAX and Power Query expertise.
- Strong dimensional modelling capability, including practical application of Kimball methodologies.
- High-quality data visualisation and dashboard design skills, demonstrating innovative and effective approaches.
- Strong data storytelling and presentation skills with a focus on clarity and engagement.
- PL-300 certification - preferred.
- Hands-on experience with data manipulation, mining, and validation within Power BI.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying relational databases.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, with exposure to tools such as Snowflake or Azure Data Factory.
