A highly experienced Service Architect is required to work across key government client accounts, taking responsibility for defining, governing and sustaining high-quality service models. The role will focus on the design and implementation of Common Service Data Model (CSDM)-aligned service structures, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles and client governance standards.

Working within a federated operating model, the Service Architect will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB) practices, service mapping capabilities, and dependency models. The role also involves embedding data quality assurance, governance controls and agile delivery practices to ensure service data remains accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement service models aligned to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Establish and maintain CMDB governance frameworks, including policies, standards and controls.
  • Lead service mapping initiatives, defining service relationships and dependencies across business and technology layers.
  • Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards and strategic roadmaps.
  • Engage stakeholders across a federated operating model to support adoption of service modelling best practice.
  • Define and implement data quality assurance processes.
  • Apply governance controls to manage authoritative data sources within the CMDB and related systems.
  • Support agile delivery teams by embedding service modelling practices into iterative delivery.
  • Validate and continuously improve service models through reviews, audits and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on service architecture, configuration management and service data governance.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Service Architect or similar role within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in CSDM-aligned service modelling.
  • Background in CMDB design, governance and administration.
  • Experience delivering service mapping and dependency modelling.
  • Experience working within federated operating models and influencing stakeholders.
  • Track record of implementing data quality frameworks and governance controls.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles and service model integration.
  • Expertise in CMDB platforms, such as ServiceNow or equivalent.
  • Ability to design and interpret complex service dependency models.
Certifications Desirable
  • ITIL 4 or equivalent.
  • ServiceNow CIS or equivalent.
  • TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture certification.

SC Clearance is non-negotiable.
