A Building & Construction Project Lead is required for a leading global aerospace and defence organisation to manage and deliver complex construction and building services projects across secure UK facilities. This role is focused on strong project management leadership, with construction and building services experience essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead projects end-to-end, manage stakeholders, and control delivery in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver construction and building services projects from feasibility through to handover
- Own project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, and delivery performance
- Act as the client-side Project Manager, managing consultants and contractors
- Lead multi-functional project teams and external professional services
- Drive stakeholder engagement across engineering, facilities, commercial, and H&S teams
- Ensure full compliance with H&S, technical, and regulatory requirements
- Manage site activities and attend site as required to support delivery
- Oversee contractor performance, progress, quality, and safety
- Produce project reports, cost updates, and delivery documentation
Required Skills & Experience (Key Focus)
- Strong Project Manager with construction experience (essential)
- Proven delivery of construction and refurbishment projects in live environments
- Client-side project management experience (essential)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to attend site regularly as required
