Job Title: Hardware Engineer (Avionics & Embedded Systems) IR35: Outside Rate: Β£55-Β£65 per hour Location: South West England (hybrid, 2 days a week in the office) About the role We're a growing manufacturer of advanced uncrewed aircraft systems. You'll own the design of safety-critical flight electronics, from schematic and PCB layout through to prototype bring-up and environmental testing.

What you'll do

Design multi-layer PCBs in Altium Designer for flight computers, power distribution and sensor interfaces Implement communication buses including CAN/CAN FD, RS422/485, Ethernet, SPI and I2C Design efficient, lightweight DC-DC converters and power circuitry Design for harsh environments and meet standards such as DO-160G and MIL-STD-810 What you'll need Advanced Altium Designer skills, including high-speed layout and controlled impedance Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (e.g. STM32); FPGA experience is a bonus Hands-on lab skills: diagnostics, soldering, harness integration and test automation (Python/LabVIEW) Urgent role, interviewing next week.
