The Role
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to play a key role in improving supplier performance and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the supply chain. Based in London, you will work closely with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams, driving process improvements, supplier development, and the advancement of the Supplier Quality Management System. This role involves occasional travel and provides the opportunity to collaborate across multiple disciplines in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate supplier quality activities across the supply chain
- Manage Supplier Quality Non-Conformities, liaising with suppliers and internal teams
- Ensure effective resolution of non-conformities using tools such as 8D reports, Root Cause Analysis, containment, and corrective actions
- Conduct supplier audits and generate detailed reports
- Develop and maintain supplier KPIs and scorecards to monitor performance
- Support new supplier selection and review Supplier Self-Assessment Forms
- Assist with inspection of new parts, engineering changes, and defective components
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the Supplier Quality Management System
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of product and process manufacturing, electronics, and mechanical engineering
- At least 5 years' experience in a regulated industry within quality, manufacturing, or engineering
- Technically qualified in a relevant discipline
- Proven success in driving supplier quality improvements using industry best practices
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, TQM, Lean techniques, and problem-solving tools
- Engineering/technical degree or equivalent
- Internal Auditor Qualification for ISO 9001:2015
- Proficiency in MS Office, Visio, and SharePoint
- Experience in supplier development and implementing new processes
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electronic schematics
