Overview
Join a high-impact programme delivering secure, large-scale cloud infrastructure within a UK government environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy and support applications across GCP (GKE, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, App Engine)
- Operate within secure / disconnected (air-gapped) environments
- Monitor services using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Trace
- Manage deployments via CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain IAM roles, service accounts and security policies (least privilege)
- Support application migrations, testing and releases
- Carry out BAU ops: patching, performance checks, config updates
- Produce documentation (runbooks, LLDs)
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP engineering and operations
- Experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)
- Knowledge of IAM, networking, and secure system design
- Experience with Kubernetes / GKE and containerised workloads
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation
- Experience working in regulated or secure environments
- Ability to work across engineering, architecture and security teams
Nice to Have
- Government / classified environment experience (SC or above)
- Knowledge of NCSC or UK Government cloud standards
- Experience with AI services in GCP
- Multi-cloud, edge or data sovereignty experience
- GCP certifications
