Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Migration Lead to join a specialist data services organisation working within the healthcare sector. This role will play a critical part in delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes across NHS Trusts, supporting the migration of data from legacy systems into modern Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms such as Epic.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of data migration strategies and plans
- Manage end-to-end data migration activities across multiple workstreams
- Oversee data transformation tools and technologies
- Ensure high standards of data quality through validation, cleansing, and assurance processes
- Collaborate with clinical teams, IT, infrastructure, and third-party vendors
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to data migration
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and maintain clear communication across programmes
- Provide regular updates to programme boards and digital working groups
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading data migration projects end-to-end, ideally within healthcare
- Strong understanding of NHS data models and statutory reporting requirements
- Experience working with EHR systems (Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium preferred)
- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Microsoft T-SQL / SQL querying or similar RDBMS
- Background as a Data Analyst or Data Migration Specialist
- Experience in a client-facing or consultancy environment
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, Copilot)
- Familiarity with Jira and ETL tools such as SSIS
