iO are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with active eDV Clearance for a client of ours in the National Security space. This role offers the chance to work across some very exciting projects, on multi-year programmes of work.
Start: ASAP
Location: London & Milton Keynes
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £600 - £675 per day, Outside IR35
Active eDV Clearance is essential for this role, given the nature of the work/projects.
Essential experience:
- Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), QA Automation Engineer or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience developing automated tests using Python 3.13+.
- Experience testing containerised applications using Docker.
- Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks such as PyTest, Playwright, Selenium or Robot Framework.
- Experience testing APIs, user interfaces, integration points and microservices.
- Experience integrating automated testing into GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Experience working alongside security teams to automate security testing within delivery pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git and requirements/test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence or TestRail.
Desirable skills:
- Exposure to Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm and ArgoCD.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks including ISO 27001 or NIST.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
