The company is now seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing engineering operations within a complex electronics and assembly environment.

The Role

This position will lead the development and execution of manufacturing engineering strategy across PCB assembly and final product assembly operations. You will play a key role in driving operational performance, continuous improvement, new product introduction, and engineering capability across the site. You will manage and develop a high-performing engineering team while supporting production efficiency, quality, safety, and future manufacturing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team across operations.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support NPI activities and ensure manufacturability standards are achieved.
  • Improve OEE, productivity, quality, and equipment performance.
  • Oversee PFMEA, DFMEA, process controls, and manufacturing standards.
  • Support investment planning for new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and NPI teams.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and site SHE standards.
  • Manage budgets, headcount planning, and engineering resource allocation.
  • Optimise shop-floor layouts and manufacturing flow.

Experience Required

  • Degree qualified in Manufacturing, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • Strong background within electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with surface-mount and through-hole assembly processes.
  • Proven leadership experience within manufacturing engineering operations.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with PFMEA, DFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SAP/MRP systems and MES platforms.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification desirable.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
