A high-growth London defence tech startup needs an interim Data Governance Specialist to build and scale their data foundation from the ground up. You will define and roll out practical governance, lineage, and compliance frameworks across high-assurance defence products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data governance, quality, and metadata frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with UK MOD security controls, JSP guidelines, and UK GDPR.
  • Map data lineage and build asset catalogues across modern cloud/on-prem stacks.
  • Embed data stewardship best practices across agile engineering and ML teams.

Requirements:

  • Active UK SC Clearance (non-negotiable).
  • Track record delivering data governance in defence, government, or high-security domains.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data catalogues and governance tools (e.g., Purview, Collibra, Unity Catalog).
  • Ability to work at pace in an agile, startup environment.
