We are delivering a major secure government cloud transformation and are looking for a highly experienced Cloud DevOps / Platform Engineer to help build and run a secure private cloud environment from the ground up. This is a hands-on engineering role in a highly secure, air-gapped environment where reliability, security, and automation are critical.

What You'll Do

  • Build and operate infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong hands-on engineering with Kubernetes (GKE) - essential
  • Use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar)
  • Work in secure, disconnected / air-gapped environments
  • Support monitoring, logging, and system reliability (SRE practices)
  • Improve performance, resilience, and cost efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience in GCP DevOps / Platform engineering
  • Expert Kubernetes (GKE) experience - essential
  • Strong Terraform / IaC experience
  • Experience in secure or regulated environments
  • Comfortable working in air-gapped / no-internet environments
  • Good knowledge of IAM, networking, and container security

Bonus

  • Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) experience
  • FinOps / cost optimisation experience
  • Google Cloud certifications
  • AI-assisted ops experience

Requirements

  • Active SC clearance (minimum)
  • Willingness to go through DV clearance
  • Right to work in the UK
  • 3 days per week onsite in London
