Overview

Join a high-impact programme delivering secure, large-scale cloud infrastructure within a UK government environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy and support applications across GCP (GKE, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, App Engine)
  • Operate within secure / disconnected (air-gapped) environments
  • Monitor services using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Trace
  • Manage deployments via CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain IAM roles, service accounts and security policies (least privilege)
  • Support application migrations, testing and releases
  • Carry out BAU ops: patching, performance checks, config updates
  • Produce documentation (runbooks, LLDs)

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP engineering and operations
  • Experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)
  • Knowledge of IAM, networking, and secure system design
  • Experience with Kubernetes / GKE and containerised workloads
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation
  • Experience working in regulated or secure environments
  • Ability to work across engineering, architecture and security teams

Nice to Have

  • Government / classified environment experience (SC or above)
  • Knowledge of NCSC or UK Government cloud standards
  • Experience with AI services in GCP
  • Multi-cloud, edge or data sovereignty experience
  • GCP certifications
