Contract Length: Initial contract till May 2027

Day Rate: £650 p/d (Inside IR35)

Location: Hybrid; 2 days per week in London

We're supporting a major UK Government department looking for a seasoned Senior Delivery Manager to join a fast-paced transformation initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery & Governance: Lead priority transformation workstreams, ensuring key milestones, dependencies, and delivery outputs are met in high-pressure environments.
  • Team Leadership: Provide clear direction across matrix teams, stepped-up workload management, and direct line management/mentorship for ~3 junior team members.
  • Stakeholder & Alignment: Work seamlessly across both public and private sector delivery models, managing senior stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Autonomy: Own and manage your workload independently without requiring constant direction or micro-management.

What We Are Looking For

  • Transformation Expertise: Proven track record leading business or technology transformation programmes across public and/or private sector environments.
  • Adaptable Leadership: Strong capability in leadership, strategic thinking, and clear communication-going beyond pure technical or single-methodology delivery.
  • Fast Learner: Ability to upskill rapidly and navigate complex, evolving organisational landscapes.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Formal certifications in Agile, Programme Delivery, or Project Management (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, APM) are beneficial but not required.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external delivery partners.

Please Note: This role requires a holistic delivery and leadership skillset. Candidates whose experience is solely limited to Scrum Master or Agile Coach roles will not be suitable, as this initiative demands broad transformation leadership and strategic oversight.
