Role: Management Consultant (Defence & Operations)
Location: Remote-First (occasional travel across London, M4 Corridor, Bristol, and South of England)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £43,000 - £49,000 (negotiable for stronger experience)
Clearance: Must be clearable / eligible for UK Security Clearance (active SC is a plus)
We are partnered with a specialist consultancy supporting critical programmes across complex, regulated environments, including UK Defence. They are seeking an agile, client-facing Management Consultant who is keen to build and accelerate their career within the UK Defence sector.
The Role
This position provides a unique hybrid focus, combining external client advisory and delivery with internal leadership exposure:
- Client Delivery & Governance: Support the lifecycle of major Defence and government programmes. Lead defined work packages, facilitate stakeholder workshops, run structured problem-solving, and deliver clear, decision-ready reports and briefings.
- Operational Systems & Policies: Play a pivotal internal role helping establish and run the firm's Integrated Management System (IMS), collaborating directly with senior leadership on ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and Defence Cyber standards.
- Business Development: Contribute to high-impact proposals, bids, and commercial development as the boutique consultancy scales.
We are looking for...
- Background: Approximately 2 to 4 years of proven consulting or client-facing project delivery experience (ideal for someone looking to move out of a Big 4 or large-firm structure).
- Mindset: Proactive, commercially aware, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to deliver high-quality work without being micromanaged.
- Core Competencies: Exposure to project/programme management, governance, business change, or operational systems (familiarity with ISO/management standards is beneficial).
- Security & Location: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC clearable). Ideally based in the South of England, Bristol, M4 corridor, or London for occasional, expensable client site visits.
