About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised Sales Account Executive to join a growing UK Defence SME. This role is ideal for an ex-military professional seeking to apply their operational mindset in a commercial sales environment.
This role will be pivotal in managing the end-to-end sales process, following up on warm leads, and progressing opportunities through to successful deal closure. By working closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams, you will build a strong understanding of the company's service portfolio and help deliver growth by driving the sales pipeline forward.
This is a great fit for someone who's detail-oriented, proactive, and confident engaging with clients across the defence ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the sales process from initial engagement to deal closure
- Follow up on leads and qualify sales opportunities
- Support Senior BDM and the Campaign Team with opportunity assessment and planning
- Engage directly with prospects to understand business needs and communicate the value of managed services
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Sales) to align messaging and proposals
- Prepare and contribute to proposals, pitch documents, and client presentations
- Maintain CRM systems and track pipeline progress accurately
- Attend relevant industry events and conferences to support sales efforts
Experience:
- Ex-Military with minimum 2 years of experience in a B2B sales, business development, or sales support role
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple sales opportunities and follow through to close
- Experience working within the managed services, technology, or defence sectors
- Understanding of UK Government procurement or MOD supplier environments
