A well-established UK manufacturer in the Bristol area is hiring a Quality Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and crucially to build a people-led quality culture where "good looks like" is clear, measurable, and owned at every level. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role with genuine influence across Operations, Product/Engineering, Aftercare/Customer, and Supply Chain.
What you'll be doing:
- Own and evolve the Quality Management System, ensuring it's practical, adopted, and drives better outcomes (not just compliance).
- Act as a change agent, embedding quality behaviours and accountability across the business.
- Define and embed inspection/testing procedures and product/process quality requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement using structured methods (e.g. 8D, CAPA, FMEA, RCA), plus Lean tools.
- Build and report meaningful KPIs/dashboards, using data to prioritise and solve problems.
- Lead internal/external audits and manage supplier quality/audits.
- Identify training needs, build capability (skills matrices, coaching, team development).
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager / Senior Quality Lead within manufacturing (high-volume / assembly / industrial environments highly relevant).
- Strong track record of building or improving a QMS (ISO 9001 knowledge strongly preferred; experience leading readiness/implementation is a big plus).
- Confident leading cross-functional quality transformation and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid CI/problem-solving toolkit: 8D / CAPA / FMEA / SPC (or equivalent).
- Strong communication style: able to coach, engage, and bring teams "on the journey".
Package / Location:
- Permanent, on-site (Bristol area)
- Salary up to c.Β£65,000 (depending on experience) + benefits
