An established, employee-owned engineering consultancy is expanding its Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (WOME) Safety / High Hazard team and is looking for an OME Facilities Safety Consultant to support a growing MOD-focused portfolio.
You’ll take a lead role across MOD ship explosives safety workstreams, with a secondary focus supporting high hazard facility safety management programmes.
Role responsibilities:- Developing and reviewing MOD Ship Explosives Safety Cases
- Completing Ship Magazine Material Assessment Surveys
- Managing residual risk including Risk Balance Cases and Cost-Benefit Analysis
- Supporting MOD Ship Explosives Safety Certification activities
- Producing high-quality technical reports / memoranda with strong attention to detail
- Contributing to relationship management and (where appropriate) business development
- Experience delivering within MOD ship explosives / explosives safety (safety case + hazard assessment)
- Familiarity with relevant MOD frameworks/standards (DSA and relevant Defence Standards)
- Understanding of hazard/risk analysis approaches (e.g. SWIFT, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA)
- Working knowledge of regulations such as COSHH, DSEAR, ATEX
Due to the nature of this role you must be a Sole UK National with active SC clearance, or with willingness to obtain SC Clearance.
