A specialist school in the London area is looking for a highly organised and proactive School Administrator – SEND & Pupil Support to join its team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to busy environments, coordinating important processes, and building positive relationships with families and professionals. You do not need previous school or education-sector experience to be successful in this role. We welcome applications from candidates with strong administrative, coordination, or compliance experience gained in other settings such as healthcare, social care, charities, professional services, customer-facing organisations, or other busy office environments.

If you are detail-oriented, confident managing processes, and committed to making a difference, we would like to hear from you. Working closely with the SENCo and the wider team, you will play an important role in supporting SEND administration, annual reviews, statutory processes, and communication with parents and external professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to use their administrative strengths in a meaningful role within a supportive and safeguarding-focused environment.

The role: In this position, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of key administrative and SEND-related processes across the school. You will coordinate important review activity, maintain accurate records, support compliance requirements, and help ensure that communication with families and professionals is timely, clear, and well organised. This role would suit someone who is calm under pressure, able to manage multiple deadlines, and confident handling sensitive information with professionalism and care.

  • You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring effective administrative systems that support school operations and SEND processes.
  • You will coordinate annual reviews, including arranging meetings, preparing paperwork, liaising with parents, colleagues, and external agencies, and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • You will also support statutory administration for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, collate and submit required information to the Department for Education and local authorities, prepare and distribute documentation in a timely manner, and provide high-quality administrative support across a range of meetings and events.
  • At all times, you will be expected to follow safeguarding policies and procedures and contribute to a culture of vigilance and care.

About you: We are looking for someone with strong administration and coordination skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. You should be confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable learning internal systems, including school-based databases or MIS platforms. Previous experience in a school would be helpful, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who have worked in other structured, fast-paced environments and can demonstrate transferable skills in administration, compliance, scheduling, record-keeping, customer communication, or case coordination.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
  • Strong administrative experience in a busy and professional environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Confidence communicating with parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • A high level of accuracy and professionalism when producing documents and maintaining records.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience of MIS systems or databases would be an advantage.
  • A willingness to undertake First Aid training if not already qualified.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting young people with additional needs.

Why apply? This is an opportunity to join a specialist setting where your work will have a visible impact. You will be part of a supportive team and will play a key role in helping important processes run smoothly for pupils, families, and staff. The role offers a structured term-time working pattern, a strong sense of purpose, and the chance to develop your career in a meaningful environment.
