Job title: Graduate Civil Engineer Location: Bristol (5 days onsite) Job type: Permanent Salary: £25-30k per annum iO Associates is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to work with this key UK port, transformed through extensive investment, has developed into a modern logistics hub with a longstanding shipping heritage. Supporting large vessels and offering seamless access to major UK markets via direct motorway and rail links, the port plays a crucial role in regional and national economies. It provides extensive storage and warehousing facilities and is a significant source of employment and economic value for the area. Must have: Working towards being an incorporated or chartered engineer and an active member of a professional engineering institution. Skillset: Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a recognised field of maritime or civil engineering. Good knowledge of engineering management processes and systems. Project management expertise or certification. Responsibilities: Overseeing construction and demolition projects, including those related to maritime operations, throughout the Port estate. The strategic planning of maintenance and inspections of marine infrastructure. Making sure that projects are planned according to industry standards for project management and carried out as economically as possible; making the right make/buy decisions to decide whether work should be done internally by building services/power systems staff or outsourced. Maintaining the highest health and safety standards and making sure all contractors are appropriately informed, have the necessary permits, and uphold the highest standards when working on port. This is a site-based job role.
