Job Description

Our client is a global strategy consulting firm that works across a broad spectrum of industries, including Consumer Goods, Retail & Leisure. Their clients range from emerging brands that are disrupting markets to established industry leaders facing the challenge of transforming their operations to stay ahead of the competition.

These industries present some of the most complex and impactful strategic challenges, requiring innovative thinking and a deep understanding of market dynamics. We are seeking individuals with exceptional intellectual ability who thrive in environments where novel problem-solving is essential.

In this role, Engagement Managers lead teams in delivering high-impact projects that solve intricate strategic problems. As a manager, you will oversee project delivery, collaborating with small, dynamic teams of consultants to develop actionable insights for our clients. While experience in consumer goods, retail, or leisure is advantageous, it is not a requirement for this role. You will be involved in business development, and your primary responsibility will be assisting senior leaders in generating repeat business by delivering exceptional results.

We are a rapidly growing business, and we offer significant progression opportunities. We are particularly interested in candidates who are excited by the potential for long-term career growth and the path to leadership within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams to develop solutions for complex strategic problems.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and partners to define project objectives and ensure the highest quality of delivery.
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of consulting engagements, ensuring that client needs are met and that projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Support business development efforts and foster strong client relationships that contribute to repeat business.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, helping to build a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Communicate findings and strategic recommendations clearly and persuasively to senior executives.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a strategy consulting environment or an in-house strategy role.
  • Experience in managing work streams and teams, with a proven ability to drive results and meet objectives.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with a track record of successfully building and maintaining relationships with senior executives.
  • Experience in the Consumer Goods/Retail industries is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to approach complex strategic questions in a structured, hypothesis-driven manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to senior audiences.
  • Ability to manage teams effectively, demonstrating a balance of pragmatic execution and maintaining momentum across projects.
  • A commitment to high ethical standards, with integrity and respect for others in all interactions.
  • Strong leadership potential, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and build credibility quickly with clients.

Additional Attributes:

  • A desire for long-term career growth and partnership potential within a rapidly expanding firm.
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Proven success in managing and delivering strategic projects across various industries or sectors, with the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering strategic initiatives in a variety of organizational contexts.
  • A track record of leading teams in the development and execution of innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, contributing to firm growth.
