A leading Defence Institution is seeking an Accessibility/Lifting Specialist, with proven experience managing lifting operations, including planning and supervising complex lifts.
Minimum Requirement:
- Proven experience managing lifting operations, including planning and supervising complex lifts.
- In-depth knowledge of lifting legislation, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong understanding of contract lift documentation and assurance processes.
- Familiarity with asset management practices, including CAFM systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to analyse and review technical documentation.
- Demonstrable experience in assurance activities (L1, 2 & 3).
- Complex/Heavy lifting experience.
Desirable:
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., Lifting Equipment Engineers Association - LEEA).
- Training/qualification as Appointed Person (Lifting Operations).
- Previous experience in Defence or high-security environments.

- Provide a single competent authority accountable for lifting assurance.
- Standardise lifting governance across sites.
- Ensure alignment with Safe to Start and regulatory obligations.
- Train and develop a designated staff member to AP competency level to enable long-term internal resilience and continuity.

- Develop, implement and maintain Lifting Policy, process and related forms and documentation.
