A Government organisation is seeking an experienced NEC4 Contracts Manager to lead the development, administration, and governance of NEC contracts across a complex, high-security infrastructure programme. You will act as the NEC subject matter expert, ensuring robust contract strategy, compliance, and delivery across pre- and post-contract stages, while supporting capability uplift across the project team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead NEC contract strategy, drafting, and administration (ECC, PSC, ECS)
  • Oversee pre-contract activities including procurement strategy, tendering, evaluation, and negotiation
  • Manage post-contract processes including early warnings, compensation events, payments, and change control
  • Ensure strong contract governance, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Support development of KPIs, reporting, and assurance frameworks
  • Coach and mentor teams to improve NEC contract management capability
  • Act as key interface between commercial, legal, procurement, and delivery teams

Skills & Experience:

  • NEC4 accreditation or equivalent NEC contract expertise essential
  • Strong experience managing NEC contracts on major construction/infrastructure projects
  • Proven delivery across both pre- and post-contract stages
  • Strong understanding of NEC ECC, PSC, options and clauses
  • Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in regulated or complex environments (e.g. defence, infrastructure, utilities) desirable
  • Professional membership (RICS, ICE, APM, CICES) desirable
