An established insurance organisation is looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer to join its internal IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Engineer looking to move beyond a traditional support role. Alongside supporting users and maintaining core infrastructure, the IT Support Engineer will be heavily involved in a wide variety of infrastructure and cloud projects, giving you exposure to technologies and responsibilities that are often reserved for more senior engineers.
The IT Support Engineer will work across Microsoft technologies, virtualisation and infrastructure, helping deliver projects including cloud migration, system upgrades and security enhancements while receiving ongoing training and funded certifications to support your career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support across Microsoft infrastructure and business systems.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Microsoft Intune.
- Play a key role in infrastructure projects including system upgrades, cloud migration initiatives, platform improvements and technology refreshes.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Intune, including device enrolment, application deployment, Data Loss Prevention and security policies.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access requests and Group Policies.
- Support Hyper V, VMware and virtualised environments.
- Perform patching, maintenance and infrastructure optimisation.
- Support networking, telephony and wider infrastructure technologies.
- Work closely with infrastructure, development and application teams on business improvement projects.
Essential Skills:
- Commercial experience administering Microsoft 365.
- Strong Active Directory administration experience, including Group Policy management.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Intune.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line IT support.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
Desirable Skills:
- VMware or Hyper V.
- Microsoft 365 migration projects.
- Intune device enrolment, application control and Data Loss Prevention.
- 3CX or other VoIP platforms.
- Linux.
