Involve Recruitment are currently seeking a motivated and technically capable Assistant Site Manager to join our team on a Housing Association development in Crewkerne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within residential construction while working on a high-quality affordable housing scheme.
The role will involve working closely with the Site Manager and project team to support the successful delivery of the development, with a strong focus on technical detail, quality assurance, and client coordination. This position will suit someone who is organised, proactive, and confident liaising with client representatives and subcontractors on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to programme
- Maintain high standards of quality control and technical compliance
- Support with site inspections, snagging, and defect management
- Liaise regularly with the Housing Association client team and consultants
- Ensure all works meet relevant building regulations, drawings, and specifications
- Monitor health & safety on site and support site inductions
- Assist with site documentation, reporting, and progress updates
- Previous experience in a Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager role within residential construction
- Experience on housing or affordable housing developments desirable
- Strong technical understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Comfortable working closely with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Proactive approach with strong attention to detail
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) desirable but not essential
