The Opportunity
We are working in partnership with a leading contracting group that has secured a five-year MEICA framework and continues to expand its regional delivery team. With a strong pipeline of AMP8 projects, this is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of major upgrades across clean and wastewater infrastructure within a long-term programme of works.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical aspects of projects from design through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of mechanical projects across clean and wastewater sites
- Assist in managing projects from design through to commissioning and handover
- Work collaboratively with electrical, civil, and pre-construction teams
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities
- Monitor project progress against programme and budget
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Assist with technical documentation, reporting, and quality assurance
- Engage with clients and stakeholders as required
Requirements
- Experience in a Mechanical Project Engineer or similar role within water or utilities
- Understanding of MEICA projects, with a mechanical focus
- Exposure to clean and/or wastewater projects (preferred)
- Knowledge of project delivery from design through to commissioning
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
