We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Customer Account Manager to join our growing waste management team. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience within the waste, recycling, skip hire, or environmental services industry who understands the importance of customer relationships, service delivery, pricing, and margin management. You will be responsible for managing both new and existing customer accounts, converting enquiries into profitable business, and delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing and new customer accounts
  • Build strong, long-term client relationships to maximise retention and repeat business
  • Handle incoming enquiries and bookings via email and telephone
  • Prepare accurate quotations and negotiate commercially profitable rates
  • Convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales orders
  • Process orders accurately using the in-house system
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally, escalating where necessary
  • Input invoicing details, pricing, and weight ticket information accurately
  • Liaise with transport, operations, and technical teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve account performance
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve company targets and business goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within the waste management, recycling, skip hire, or environmental services sector
  • Proven background in account management, sales support, or customer account handling
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on margins and profitability
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts in a busy environment
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
