My Welding and Fabrication client based in Walsall are looking for a Welding Coordinator / NDT Inspector to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. The role will be working permanent nights after training.
Duties include:
- Reviewing welding requirements
- Ensure the suitability of welders allocated to each project
- Issue weld procedures
- Inspect all welding operations taking place and check welding standards are maintained as well as reviewing and managing NDT requirements on all projects
- Performing random checks on welding parameters, pre-heats etc.
- Stop production to correct quality problems
- Front line inspection at fit-up stage
- Issue PWHT procedures, weld cards and maintain weld maps
- Inspection of rework if required & final weld inspection
- Populate documents / certificate packs with welding related information
- Welding stores maintenance / records/ temperature recording
- Register & record all weld consumable certificates β review & manage welder qualifications
- Perform NDT to customer specifications and procedures
- Maintain inspection reports are filed and up to date
- Assist in the control of calibration
- Responsibility to health and safety and COSHH
Key Skills:
- Essential you have worked in this role previously
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and alongside 3rd parties
- Must have a welding background & be familiar with welding processes and certifications as well as knowledge on NDT
- Good IT skills
Additional Information:
- The role is working nights Monday β Thursday night shift 5.30pm β 3.30am.
- The training will be days β Mon β Thurs 7.54am β 4.30pm & Fri 7.54am β 1.30pm. This is expected to last 1-2 months
- 33% night shift allowance
- Overtime available (time and third mid-week, time and half Saturday, double time Sundays)
