My Cannock based client have a new and exciting opportunity for a Stores & Production Manager to join their team due to expansion. They are seeking a dynamic and hands on manager to oversee their stores & manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves managing daily activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a positive work environment for staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of stock control, materials planning, CNC operations, and final assembly.
  • Lead, develop and manage a team of around 15 operatives and technicians, ensuring that production schedules are met, stock levels are accurately maintained, and output quality remains consistently high and meeting quality standards.
  • Drive operational performance, maintaining MRP system integrity, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and work-in-progress across the facility and all installation sites.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels through effective use of MRP systems, with timely ordering, receipt, and issue of materials.
  • Collaborate with planning and procurement to ensure MRP data is reliable and production is aligned with demand.
  • Coordinate CNC workflow, material preparation, and quality, ensuring consistent throughput and minimal downtime.
  • Ensure assembly workstations are operating efficiently, with the right tools, components, and following the route cards accurately.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements across stores, CNC, and production areas, promoting lean principles.
  • Ensure health, safety and compliance are adhered to at all times.
  • Work closely with Design, Sales and customer service and Operations teams to ensure customer specifications are met and production deadlines are achieved.

Key Skills / Experience:

  • Previous experience in Stores Management and a Production role within a manufacturing, or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, inventory control, and materials planning.
  • Solid working knowledge of CNC operations and assembly line environments.
  • Proven leadership experience—able to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
