We are working with a leading multinational contracting company with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK and Europe. The company has a clear focus on delivering excellence across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceutical and advanced technology builds.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support the day-to-day site safety operations on a flagship data centre project. Reporting into the project’s Senior HSE Manager, this role will involve the management of multiple Section Safety Advisors, coordination with construction teams, and frontline oversight of safe systems of work across a live construction environment.
This is a site-based role, ideal for a proactive individual who leads by example, identifies potential safety breaches before they occur, and champions best-practice health and safety at all levels of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily health and safety operations across multiple work sections on a live data centre construction site.
- Manage and mentor a team of section-based Health & Safety Advisors, ensuring consistent standards of safety across all work zones.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to operational teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to uphold a safe working environment.
- Proactively identify, assess, and address potential risks or breaches of safety protocol.
- Promote and enforce best practices in safe systems of work, behavioural safety, and site discipline.
- Contribute to incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure site compliance in line with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Assist with audits, inspections, safety reporting, and performance reviews.
- A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in construction health & safety, including roles on large-scale, high-risk projects.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (NEBOSH Diploma / CMIOSH desirable).
- Proven experience working within a major project environment, ideally including data centres or complex infrastructure builds.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to identify safety issues proactively and influence safe behaviours on site.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, site-based environment, with multiple work fronts and stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of current HSE legislation, standards, and practices.
