Our client is a renowned and innovative contracting group operating across the UK and continental Europe. The business has successfully delivered a diverse portfolio of projects nationwide, including commercial office, residential, education, and industrial schemes. With a well‑established regional operation based in South Wales, the company currently has multiple live projects and a strong, secure pipeline of future work. As part of its continued growth strategy, the business is seeking to build on this success and capitalise on upcoming framework opportunities and competitive tenders across the region. To support this expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join the business and take ownership of the estimating function. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of high‑quality projects, develop and implement tender strategies, and lay the foundations to grow and ultimately lead the estimating team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of design‑stage, cost, and price estimates across a range of project types
  • Ownership of tender processes, including strategy development, bid submission, and value engineering
  • Negotiation and presentation of tender returns, contracts, and commercial proposals to clients and subcontractors
  • Review and analysis of building contracts, including terms and conditions
  • Measurement of quantities and preparation of project cash flow forecasts
  • Interpretation and assessment of client requirements, including post‑contract support and CRM engagement
  • Market analysis covering potential customers, projects, and competitors, with input into wider business development and regional growth strategy

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience operating at Senior Estimator level within a main contracting environment
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across multiple forms of building contract
  • Ability to operate autonomously while influencing senior stakeholders and regional leadership
  • Strategic mindset with the ambition and capability to build and lead an estimating function over time
