Job Description

Involve Recruitment are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator with a strong background in solar energy, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, and electrical maintenance. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of accurate cost estimates, provide strategic analysis, and ensure competitive pricing to support business growth. This senior role demands an expert with advanced industry knowledge and commercial expertise.

You will be expected to lead estimation efforts, mentor junior estimators, and work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive, timely, and competitive estimates.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale electrical projects, including solar PV systems, battery storage solutions, EV charging installations, and electrical maintenance contracts.\\n\\n * Manage the entire estimation process from tender analysis to bid submission, ensuring alignment with project scope, client specifications, and industry standards.\\n\\n * Conduct site visits and feasibility surveys to assess project scope and define cost implications.\\n\\n * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.\\n\\n * Review and refine cost estimates with a focus on value engineering, enhancing project profitability and efficiency.\\n\\n * Lead collaborations with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project objectives and provide strategic guidance during the bidding process.\\n\\n * Monitor industry trends, material costs, and regulatory changes, adjusting pricing strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness.\\n\\n * Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators.\\n\\n * Participate in high-level contract negotiations, providing expert input and supporting the project handover to ensure successful execution.\\n\\nKey Skills & Experience:\\n\\n * Extensive experience as an Electrical Estimator within the solar, battery storage, EV charging, and electrical maintenance sectors, with a proven track record in large-scale projects.\\n\\n * Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support a team of estimators.\\n\\n * Expert-level knowledge of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and industry regulations.\\n\\n * Deep understanding of electrical design principles, contracts (NEC, JCT), and industry standards.\\n\\n * Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).\\n\\n * Advanced negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\\n\\n * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and build strong client relationships.\\n\\n * Experience using CRM systems to manage client relationships, track project progress, and streamline communication.\\n\\n * High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and reporting.\\n\\nQualifications:\\n\\n * Electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent.\\n\\n * Significant experience in the renewable energy sector is essential.\\n\\n * Advanced knowledge of NEC, JCT contracts, and relevant regulatory frameworks.\\n\\n * Membership of professional bodies (e.g., IET, CIBSE) is highly desirable.\\n\\n * Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\\n\\nWhat We Offer:\\n\\n * Opportunity to work with a rapidly growing company in the renewable energy sector.\\n\\n * Professional development and career growth opportunities.\\n\\n * Competitive basic salary of up to £45,000.\\n\\n * A collaborative and supportive work environment.\\n\\n * Company pension scheme.\\n\\n * Car allowance or mileage allowance (if applicable).\\n\\nWork Pattern:\\n\\n40 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 / Friday 08:00 – 16:00\\n\\nFull-time, office-based role with occasional site visits
