We are working with a leading infrastructure contractor who has secured a major highway site development in Bristol as part of the Metrowest programme. They require a Site Agent / Senior Site Agent to take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of a multi-site programme of highway development schemes forming part of the Metrowest project. This role includes managing site teams, overseeing construction activities, supporting pre-construction documentation, and leading the project through to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all works are delivered in full compliance with contract Terms and Conditions
- Contract Health & Safety Plans
- Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
- Quality and Environmental Plans
- Deliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget
- Support pre-construction development including drafting:
- Construction Phase Plans (CPP)
- Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)
- Consents and permits applications
- Lead day-to-day site management once works commence (June 2026)
- Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial colleagues to ensure effective cost control
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where needed
- Ensure changes to the contract are identified, communicated, and managed appropriately
- Provide clear and timely progress reports to the Contracts Manager
- Build positive, professional relationships with the Local Authority client and stakeholders
Essential:
- SMSTS
- Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
- Experience as a Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment
- Strong understanding of CDM requirements and pre-construction documentation
- Experience preparing CPPs, CEMPs, and/or consents applications
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Previous experience in highways or Local Authority infrastructure schemes
- Experience managing multiple concurrent sites
