I am now working with a busy and established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor based in Liverpool, who are looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller to join their team. This busy Tier One Contractor delivers M&E packages across a diverse range of new build construction projects, including High End Residential, Industrial and Healthcare. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with a construction background who is looking to play a key role in ensuring project information is accurately controlled, distributed and maintained throughout the lifecycle of each project.

The Role

As the Document Controller, you will work closely with the Project Management, Commercial and Site Teams to ensure all project documentation is managed efficiently and in accordance with company and project requirements. The role will be a combination of site and office based, requiring someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment and communicating with all levels of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain project documentation and information systems.
  • Ensure drawings, specifications, reports, schedules and other project information are correctly logged, issued and archived.
  • Maintain accurate document registers and trackers.
  • Ensure the latest revisions of documents are available to the relevant project teams.
  • Upload and manage documentation through relevant project portals and document management systems.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams regarding document submissions and approvals.
  • Monitor outstanding documentation and follow up with relevant parties.
  • Assist project teams with general administration and document management requirements.
  • Ensure project records are maintained accurately and in line with company procedures.
  • Support the smooth flow of information between the site and office teams.

You will be highly organised, methodical and comfortable managing a high volume of information and documentation. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
